The Academy for Lay Ministry empowers laypersons to carry out the work of ministry in the larger community and in their daily vocations. In the fall (ordinarily October-November) and again during Lent, Academy courses provide small group reflection on relevant theological and biblical topics, along with matters related to spirituality and ministry. Academy courses aim to be both formational and conversational, drawing participants into reflection that deepens the spiritual life, enlightens the mind, and builds community.

Trinity normally offers two or three Academy courses simultaneously over periods of five to eight weeks. We schedule courses at various times of the week and diverse locations. Past Lay Academy course topics include A Faith of Your Own, Praying with Your Pen, the Book of Job, Caring for People You Love, and Suffering and Theology of the Cross.
